Six Senses

Oman – it’s not a name that normally conjures up images of sandy beaches and mojitos. Call it the Sultanate of Oman, and it certainly sounds more exotic. Who knows, with hotels like this appearing on the radar, perhaps it’ll be the new Morocco? The Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay opens in early 2008, and in addition to looking amazing, it has a rather unusual arrival experience on offer.

Six SensesHajar Mountains overlooking the resort; or 3. a tandem flight with the Hideaway’s professional paraglider.

Six SensesMusandam Peninsula (known as ‘The Norway of the Middle East’), and the hotel is in a fishing village nestled between sandy beaches and rugged mountains. Once you’ve paraglided in, you have a choice of 82 villas with private infinity pools. Each has a personal butler, poolside majils (Arabian summer houses), a choice of pillows and duvets, flat panel TV, espresso machine, wifi access, personal wine cellar and bicycles. A good reason to check out Oman? We think it may be. RM
