Hi Hotel
A hotel that says ‘Hi’ to you before you even get there? Now that’s friendly. The Hi Hotel in Nice was created with conviviality and accessibility in mind. As they say, ‘Some hotels make you feel at home, others, like you’re a guest.’ This one aims to make you make you feel at home, albeit a seriously stylish one.
Hi may be an urban oasis, but it’s within strolling distance of the sea. Created by young French designer (and Philippe Starck disciple) Matali Crasset inside a Thirties building, it aims to be bold and innovative but also endlessly comfortable.
Endlessly comfortable, but – with its brightly-colored resin floors, cheery walls and furniture – it’s also a visual treat.
Plus its Happy Bar (pictured top) plays host to a vibrant music scene, with electro-funk DJs at weekends.
If you don’t want to spend all your time in a techno room like the one pictured below (check out the video camera on the wall and the movie screen at the foot of the bed), chill out by the rooftop pool, with its flourescent waterbeds and great views of Nice.
No doubt saying ‘Bye’ will be hard. RM
