Casa Camper, Berlin

casa-main Casa Camper is all about functionality and friendly aesthetics. Which makes sense, as it was created by the famous Spanish footwear brand, Camper. A hotel inspired by a shoe? I've heard of an old lady who lived in one, but other than that… casa-6 Locations opened first in Barcelona then in Berlin. The newer hotel boasts a relaxed atmosphere and rooms flooded with natural light. It also has room numbers on its windows, which looks great. casa-2_0 You'll find it in the historical heart of the city, Mitte, near Hackescher Markt and the famous Museumsinsel. casa-camper-3 It was designed by Fernando Amat and Jordi Tio, of fashionable Barcelona department store Vinçon. Their attention to detail and simple yet creative design can be seen throughout its 51 rooms. casa-5 Brick red is a dominant theme, as well as utilitarian design. It's not lavish, and this is not a hotel for those who want high thread count and perfectly fluffy pillows. casa-camper-2 The hotel has been described as having 'youthful irreverence and unpretentious artiness', and is aimed at young cosmopolitan and creative guests. casa-camper On its top floor, you'll find Tentempié, offering fresh snacks and drinks 24 hours a day, as well as views of the Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg, all free for hotel guests. There's also a restaurant, Dos Palillos, which offers Asian tapas created by Albert Raurich, formerly the chef de cuisine at Ferran Adrià’s El Bulli. casa Definitely worth checking out.
