The Seat Brisa

The Seat Brisa could be the ultimate in enviromentally-friendly vehicles. It's only a 'study' at this stage, but the streamlined solar-powered sports car looks great. A bit like a German wooden toy, but the (almost) real deal.

Designed by Miguel Ángel Iranzo Sánchez, it's open to the elements – both wind and sun ('brisa' means breeze in Spanish). The translucent elastomere shell is lined with nano-fotovoltaic cells, which power the rear-wheel-mounted motor. Its floorpan is made of plywood, and streamlined like a sailboat. Lovely. Can't wait to see it in action. RM

I only see one major problem. The open design!

How do you keep from getting wet when the weather is bad? Where I live it rains quite a bit, thus, having such an open design would not work.

Also, it would not provide much shade on hot days or warmth on cold ones. And trying to drive this in snow would be like being tortured.

Any comments?
