With high gas prices and environmental concerns, alternative energies for transportation are on the tip of everyone's tongues. There's electric, solar and even wind power, but as of yet no car has managed to combine them all. Until now. Welcome Venturi's Eclectic, the first solar and electric autonomous car in the history of the automobile.
What's great about it is that the Eclectic can use all three energies, meaning you can benefit from an environmentally friendly vehicle whether you live in an overly sunny environment or a windy one.
And when the sun and wind aren't working in your favor, you can always plug the car in to charge it electrically. This all makes the Eclectic more than just an electric vehicle; it's a production and storage plant for renewable energy produced by the wind and sun. Now that's putting nature to good use.
The Eclectic is currently in the final developing stages and will be presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 2008; it goes on the commercial market in 2009. But buying an Eclectic isn't just buying a car; it's making a personal commitment (just like Eclectic's company Venturi which has pledged to being carbon neutral). You'll go from merely consuming energy to a producing it, all by driving around town. Definitely something to be excited about! AB
