Postcards From Chic Nomads: One Day in Gaitlinburg
Being chic doesn’t always involve shopping at designer stores, lunching at the best restaurants, or grabbing drinks at the hottest lounge. In the Smoky Mountains and in my life, it means getting outside and exploring nature.
Recently I spent a day all to myself getting to know this place I call home. I started the day with a small hike overlooking the quaint little town. I love the peacefulness of Gatlinburg in the morning. Year round this place is beautiful, but this time of year I can’t get over how green it is.
The mountains feel so alive!
Next I find myself doing something thousands of tourists do each year but I have never experienced. I took a trip up the famous Sky Lift. This fun attraction takes you up 800 ft. to the top of Crockett Mountain and offers spectacular views of Gatlinburg and the surrounding mountains.
When you reach the top make sure to spend some time getting up close and personal with the scenery using the binoculars.
After spending the day getting to know Gatlinburg from a new perspective I met up with a “friend” and took advantage of the many perks of my job. My company rents vacation cabins in Gatlinburg and they were nice enough to let us enjoy a hot tub and watch the sunset. As much as I have traveled and seen it still blows me away how beautiful this place is.
