The trail of tears

Tuckaleechee Caverns, Townsend, Tennessee. In the mid 1800's, the Cherokee Indians discovered and hid in these caves to avoid what has become known as “The Trail of Tears“. In Cherokee, Nvnadaulatsvyi, “The Trail Where We Cried” was the path traveled by these Native Americans due to a US government forced relocation from the Cherokee Nation's Eastern lands to what would become Oklahoma. A Must See if you are anywhere between Knoxville and Asheville. TP
