Is it a bird… is it a shark?
We've written about amazing aquariums before here at Been-Seen (Atlantis The Palm, Aquadom), but none quite like this. It's a giant LCD screen suspended over a mall called The Place in Beijing. It's 80 feet long, and displays all kinds of photos, games and promotional videos. But most of the time it's a fish tank.
A fish tank that cost $32 million to build. The Sky Screen, as it is known, is capable of changing the weather, the mood, and the minds of shoppers underneath it.
As a virtual sky, it can blast sunshine into the air, cascade peach blossoms, or replicate a snow storm in the height of summer.
But mostly it just disorients, with sharks and other sea creatures floating overhead. Rather than underfoot.
