I've just got back from the Sahara desert and will be aching for some time from riding a camel. I'm glad I did it, though the trip was hard work, with the 12-hour drive to Merzouga, the gateway to the big dunes. Until I wash my trousers, I will have a lasting memory of the camel behind me in the caravan who took a liking to me and salivated down my trouser leg.
Sleeping in a tent in the desert was weird. With no lights and sounds and the cold,
I could really imagine losing my mind. Not joking. I add this to my life experiences! Morocco has been an adventure and a challenge. Some beautiful architecture on the way and stunning beauty and endless stark landscapes. – Alan McArthur Images: copyright Alan McArthur
