Update from the Maldives

Remember Charlie Burrows, our Verana manager for 2 seasons? We received this update from him where he is and what he’s doing. Sounds good to us. We just wish it would be around the corner from California. But for some, getting there might be half the fun. Here is what he send us:

‘Life is good and adventures abound. Currently I am a relief manager running a small exclusive Island getaway called Dhoni Mighili.

The concept is great! It’s a small hotel of only up to 6 couples at one time. We have 5 boats that are 65 foot traditional Maldivian sailing boats that have been fitted out with air con, king size beds, DVD, ipods etc.

On top of that you have your very own personal butler who attends to your every whim, a beach bungalow to retreat to after exploring the islands and sand banks on this atoll on your boat; and it is all inclusive so you get to eat & drink as you please! The price looks big, but when you factor all that’s included its pretty good value.

The other side of this is that it is the only island in the Maldives that you can rent exclusively! Which makes a perfect spot for a wedding, or a family get together, or for a group of mates to party at.

I won’t be staying here long as the policy is no children and that applies to me too, and obviously I miss Olivia, Anabel and Verana conceived baby Beau who is almost 1. We just can’t do the separate lives thing for long stretches!
