European design practice Architecture and Vision believe that we need to plan our world carefully, always remembering its fragility. As humans, we are evolving, and they believe that soon our use of non-renewable resources will be considered a ‘dark ages’. But they also like cool stuff. Meet their MercuryHouseOne.
Based on the design of a modern car, MercuryOneHouse is a modular concept home, made by connecting units that provide different functions.
Each section can be moved into position in any landscape, urban or rural. Imagine – a living room you can detach and drive? You’d barely need to think before you went into town or hit the slopes.
MercuryHouseOne is made from Carrara marble, which can be backlit so that it turns into a dazzling jewel. It’s also equipped with solar panels and collects rain water, so it has a conscience too. RM
