Cool treehouses

Who hasn’t dreamed of having a treehouse in their backyard? Well, how about living or vacationing in one? Take a look at these beautiful designs by German company Baumraum, and try not to drool.

Baumraum have created treehouses all over the world. Here’s one they created in a garden close to Osnabrück in Germany.

Fitted in between an alder tree and an oak tree, it has an unusual curved roof and large dormer window, with great views over the fields around it.

This playful design, also in Germany, was created for a family with small children, as a playhouse. Lucky kids…

Below is a fantastic lookout cabin in Carinthia, Austria. A free-standing tower, it’s built among the trees on a hillside property above the town of Seeboden.

There are two terraces at different levels and a panoramic window with great views of Lake Millstatt.

Meanwhile, in New York State, two hours out of the big city, along the banks of the Hudson River, Baumraum built a cliff house (below) for a family with kids. Sure-footed children, I hope.

The treehouse pictured below is in the World of Living park in Rheinau-Linx, on the German border, near the French city of Strasbourg.

With its many creations, it’s a great website to browse and use to fantasize about your own treehouse. Don’t forget to check out the amazing designs for concepts like the Cone (bottom) and the Water Lily (top).
