Build your own Walden

Of all the writer's cabins in the world, nonconformist Henry David Thoreau's at Walden Pond is probably the most famous. And we've featured it (and the other cabins it has inspired) quite a few times on Been Seen (Get a Cabin; Cabin Art; Fab Tree Hab; A New Walden). Here's a great way to recreate Thoreau's famous cabin in your own home. Fiddlers Green create downloadable pdfs that you can use to build scale models of various cool buildings. Just print out the pdf, cut out the pieces and stick it all together. It's a tiny piece of Walden.

You can also download Mark Twain's study, Ralph Waldo Emerson's house and Nathaniel Hawthorne's house (each for $2.95). Thanks to Alex Johnson of cool shed blog Shedworking for bringing this to our attention.
