Spending time in the great outdoors is one of our favorite things, if you couldn't tell from the articles we've written on glamping, tents, and ultra-chic campers. A quick look around the web shows that we're far from the only ones who've fallen in love with all aspects of camping, especially when it comes to tent design. The humble tent has gotten a designer upgrade and now comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and styles. Here are some of our favorites.

Tent design has been tending towards the eco-friendly in recent years. Orange's Solar Concept Tent certainly fits the bill. It was designed with the Glastonbury Festival in mind, so it's equipped with WiFi connectivity, photovoltaic fabric panels, and a light-up function should inebriated festival-goers forget how to get back to their tent (it happens!)

This isn't a traditional tent, but a very chic gazebo/canopy by design firm Pircher. This one's called "Fall in Love" and is meant to accomodate 2-people.

    Hi

The green and beige tent is a Quecha XL Air, I have one and it is amongst one of the largest tents, the reason I bought this was because I have Scoliosis and bending over in a tent all the time is painful for me. The XL Air allows me to stand, it is a nice tent, very spacious and home from home in the country!

These tents look absolutely great.I love tents. I am a tent designer myself and I find it inspirering to see to what height tent designing has risen, it is art! Pity there weren’t any bigger tents. For some inspiration on bigger ones you can check: http://www.welovetents.com/ , I designed all of them.

    Hi there,

I really enjoyed looking through your tent post =) The one at the very bottom is the Quechua 2-second-tent. You can get it at any Deacthlon store. Here is the corresponding video http://bit.ly/yuIwmY . You just throw it into the air and you are done way before all the rest of your friends are. When trying to take it down for the first time it might take a little while but if you´ve watched the instructions carefully, it won´t take you more than 2-3 minutes. The only drawback is the circular shape – no use for bike tours or backpackers, but very handy for a weekend away with friends =)

Any comments?
