Peak Lab

So now we know that it's possible to drop a huge raft onto the top of the rainforest and camp there (
SolVin Bretzel). And it's also possible to airlift a cabin onto the top of a ski slope and spend the night there (
SkiHaus). Now we discover that people are dreaming up research labs that you can hook onto the sides of mountains.

The Peak Lab is a concept designed by architecture students of
Richard Horden at TU Munich and others at HTA Lucerne. The design is intended to be an ultra-lightweight microlab that can be dropped into place by helicopter. So far, sadly, the Peak Lab exists only in models. But who knows what it might become? A holiday home for adrenalin junkies?
