Futuristic floating hotel
I love the audacity of this idea. A floating hotel that looks like it’s suspended on strings. Just like a balloon. The brainchild of Russian architects A. Asadov, A.A. Asadov, and A. Gorelov, it’s called the Aerotel.
Billed as an alternative to man-made islands, it’s intended to be built over any water area, from lakes to seashores.
Its surreal construction consists of a ring membrane stretched across arms and fixed on three supports. The body is a ‘web park’ with footpaths and hanging gardens. There’s room for a hotel, cafes, restaurants and public spaces.
You can reach the hotel by water and ascend an escalator, or drop in by airship. Cool. RM
