Earning Your Stripes
) looks the part these days, thanks to artist Susan Silton
, who has wrapped the museum in a multi-colored fumigation-like tent for her exhibition, “Inside Out”. All that is missing is a large bow.
Based on the Los Angeles-based Silton’s interest in the evolution and meaning of stripes
, “Inside Out” also includes the artist’s motley collection of striped objects, including cups, wallpaper, and clothing. Running from October 10, 2007 – January 6, 2008, the exhibition coincides with the PMCA’s 5th anniversary. So maybe it is a present: a makeover for the museum, and a reminder to the public of the precious gift of the arts.
