Better Than Bottled Water

It's like Disney Hall meets Superman's cave. A giant, luminous sculpture shaped like giant crystals. This is French architect Dominique Perrault's vision for the 'world's most beautiful hot springs spa' at San Pellegrino, Bergamo, Italy.

Inspired by religious architecture, the design is made up of glass blocks emerging from a block of stone. Inside, the cubes will be filled with colored light.

Water, appropriately enough for a spa town, is everywhere, cascading down walls and forming a multitude of pools.

The resort will include a 7-star hotel, luxury residences and a fashion mall. It's a huge undertaking, aiming to attract visitors to San Pellegrino, the town more famous for exporting its waters.

San Pellegrino has been known for its healing waters since at least 1509, when Leonardo da Vinci sampled its 'miraculous' powers.

The complex is due to open sometime between 2011 and 2012. It looks pretty irresistible. Check out this video for more. RM
