Lovely place. Would love to go again. Moorea definately considers itself part of "Tahiti" which Tahiti is actually all of the society islands. Raiatea is the administrative center for all the islands so this is kind of surprising and I bet it is more of a publicity stunt. I have been to moorea and it is gorgeous. Lovely place. If you don t want t spend a lot of money buying air passes across french polynesia, Moorea is a great solution. You can easily take a ferry from Tahiti (takes half an hour) and the beaches and lagoon are much better than in Tahiti and as nice as in the other society islands.
