Many people have a pre-conception of Australia as a wild outback, full of kangaroos, wallabees, and types like Crocodile Dundee. But the new Limes Hotel, in Brisbane, is about to explode these stereotypes and replace them with the newest, stylish innovations in hotel living.
Located in the ultra-hip Fortitude Valley (no kangaroos here!), the Limes hotel has a unique approach to luxury and service. With only 21 rooms, designer Alexander Lotersztain decided to focus on guests' primary travel requirements rather than traditional, 5-star standards.
Add to that a gorgeous, innovative exterior, and you have a new definition of the luxury hotel experience. Each lodge-type room comes equipped with custom Corian kitchen benchtops and toilette vanities, as well as custom aluminum door handles.
Add to that Blackbutt timber bed heads, splash-back and floating bedside tables, and it becomes clear that the creator of the Limes did not sacrifice any luxury in the pursuit of comfort. For example: each room is hand painted individually using a mineral coating technique.
But the super high-tech, custom-made hotel rooms aren't the only draw for those interested in the Limes' high-end hotel experience. In an area of Brisbane already known for it's trendy cafes, shops, bars, and restaurants, the completely open air roof top bar and roof top cinema fit right in with the surrounding sophisticated urban ethos. Forget the kangaroos--I'm going to Australia for the cosmopolitans!
